RPCV Wisconsin Appeal for NCPA Technology Grant

In May 2013, Friends of Ecuador received this request from RPCVs of Wisconsin-Madison to assistt a $7,000 matching technology grant for our parent organization the National Peace Corps Association (NPCA). Friends of Ecuador happily obliged with a $300 contribution. Feel free to top our contribution with ones of your own. We have been long-time believers in enhanced web-based capabilities for NPCA, and as this new website attests, Friends of Ecuador is really invested in improving its own web presence!

logoDear officers of Friends of Ecuador,

Last week the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of Wisconsin-Madison launched a campaign to encourage all NPCA member groups to match a challenge grant that will enhance the RPCV Mentoring Program, support technology upgrades and consolidate the NPCA databases.     They announced the campaign through a letter sent to your group’s mailing address.

I am following up now with this email to share the message with all of your group officers and to encourage your group to consider your response.  (In case you have not yet received the letter, please see the attached.)

RPCVs of WI-Madison started the campaign with a grant of $7,150 and are asking other groups to contribute toward the match, hoping to raise at least three times the original grant amount.  They are soliciting contributions in the range of $250 to $1,500, but any amount will be accepted.    Can we count on your group to make a contribution of $500 or more?

The National Peace Corps Association was formed by grassroots efforts to connect, inform and engage the Peace Corps community.     NPCA needs the support of its members and member groups to assure that we all have the database and technology infrastructure needed to facilitate communication and to improve the Mentoring Program.

A member of the NPCA Board Business & Development Committee will be calling you to answer questions you may have in advance of your group meeting on this topic.    When is the best time to reach you?

Once you commit to an amount, please let me know.

To make a contribution, send a check to NPCA, 1900 L Street NW, Suite 610, Washington, DC 20036 and indicate “matching campaign for database support” in the memo line, or donate online at http://peacecorpsconnect.org/donate_acgiredirect.php

If you have any questions, please contact me or Kate Schachter, Group Leaders Coordinator, (signer of the letter) at kateschachter@yahoo.com.

Thank you for your continued support of the Peace Corps community and the Third Goal!
