Peace Corps Connect Gathering in Nashville in June 2014

NPCA is very excited to be hosting Peace Corps Connect – 2014 in Nashville, TN with the great support of the Tennessee Returned Peace Corps Volunteers!

For those of you on Facebook, be sure to check out the fun aspects of Nashville hospitality.

The preliminary summary of events for June 20th and 21st is as follows:

Friday June 20, 2014

Friday will focus mainly on small group sessions. Friday events include the Group Leaders Forum, Advocacy, Storytelling as well as technology tutorials and space to meet up with old friends or NPCA staff and Board. This is also the day we’re offering member groups the opportunity to host their own group-specific sessions. We would love to have as many member groups as possible join us. This is a great opportunity to gather your group as well as share your group’s activities with the larger Peace Corps community.

Saturday June 21, 2014

Saturday will be an exciting program with TEDx-style talks from community members, award presentations, guest speakers, videos and entertainment. This program will take place in the brand new theater at the historic Country Music Hall of Fame in downtown Nashville.

New in 2014!

Peace Corps Career Fair – In conjunction with Peace Corps Connect – Nashville, the Peace Corps Office of the Third Goal and Returned Volunteer Services will be hosting a career fair in Nashville on June 19, 2014.

Kids Language Camp – In order to provide more options for those RPCVs with small children, there will be a language camp developed specifically for children of RPCVs attending Peace Corps Connect. This will provide an opportunity for parents to attend the conference while their children are exposed to the Spanish language through storytelling.

Dormitory Accommodation Option – Hotel accommodations in Nashville are hot (and we’re not talking about the weather)! While we were able to secure a hotel room block, we felt a lower cost option might be helpful for our attendees as well. Therefore, we are in the process of reserving a block of dorm rooms on a local college campus that will provide accommodations at about 1/3 the cost of a hotel room.
