Donations Coordinator

Friends of Ecuador is seeking help with managing donations to Featured Projects. We have an innovative system that we are trying whereby grassroots groups apply to be a Featured Project by filling out the basic application. We check their references, and if the organization looks legitimate and we do not have too many Featured Projects listed at the same time, we will feature that organization on the website until their fundraising goals are met. We then will send out an e-mail to our membership to let them know about the projects featured on the site. Members will have an opportunity to vote with their money and support the organizations they like. Each on-line donation goes to the Friends of Ecuador bank account and is tagged on-line with its destination based on the name in the drop-down menu in our credit card transactions page. We will bundle the donations and send a check down to the organization when its fundraising goals are met. Your main job will be to read through the applications, check for completeness, and e-mail the organization and the list of references. Your other main duties would be keeping track of donations on-line as they come in and progress reports that organizations we've supported are supposed to file six months after receiving funding. The job is pretty straight forward and should not demand more than an hour or two a week. It is a critical job for the organization. E-mail us if you are interested!
