Using the language, technical and cross-cultural skills gained through Peace Corps service and other professional experience, the Crisis Corps allows exceptional Volunteers to return to the field in short-term, high-impact assignments that typically range from three to six months. Two positions are currently available in Ecuador. HIV/AIDS Advisor: CEMOPLAF is requesting one Crisis Corps Volunteer for a six-month assignment as an HIV/AIDS Advisor. This Volunteer will be assigned to strengthen an HIV/AIDS prevention education project proposal. Duties and responsibilities include: developing strategies, methods, and other communication instruments to educate and train youth in taking appropriate preventative actions; providing coaching in training methodology with staff; assisting staff with the formulation of prevention campaigns; assisting in the monitoring, feedback, and evaluation of the project proposal and in development of new evaluation tools. Required qualifications: public health professional with relevant advanced degree (MPH preferred); experience working with HIV/AIDS; organizational skills; professional experience in proposal writing and project implementation; Latin or Central America RPCV; fluent written and oral Spanish. Youth Development Volunteer: The Association of the Girl Scouts of Ecuador is requesting one CCV for a six-month assignment as a Youth Development Volunteer to provide institutional support and development to strengthen the organization, increase adult membership growth, and help maintain its charter. Duties and responsibilities include: review and revise program materials for girls and training materials for adult members; prepare at least ten new leaders from each region and train two instructors who will be able to implement National Training plan; contact and train interested PCVs and help PCVs to open new Girl Scouts groups; coordinate new and existing fundraising activities; provide "institutional development" training such as strategic planning, recruitment of volunteers, and marketing/ communications; and help organize and conduct a one-week summer day camp in Quito for low-income girls. Required qualifications: current or previous experience as a scout leader or in Girl Scout training; Inter-America RPCV; fluent written and oral Spanish; creative use of local resources and ability to function with limited funds; strong training experience; ability to work as part of a team; experience in strategic planning and organizational development.
